The ND President thanked the people of Nea Ionia for their joint struggle and the great victory on May 21st. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, speaking to the assembled citizens during his visit to the region. “Who would have expected New Democracy to win New Ionia by 10 points over SYRIZA“, – stressed Mr. Mitsotakis, pointing out that if the elections were held under a strengthened proportional system, “today the country would already have a stable government with a comfortable parliamentary majority.”

He then urged citizens to come to the June 25th elections, saying: “So what some people did not allow us to do in the May 21st elections because they experimented with a simple analogy, I ask you to do within twenty days from now, with a strong New Democracy, with a comfortable parliamentary majority. Because today the country needs, first of all, a stable government that can confidently lead our country into the future and withstand the great geopolitical challenges of the region.”

Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized that the question of the upcoming elections is whether the course for the reconstruction and modernization of the country will continue, adding that if anything was justified in the previous pre-election period, it is the right political speech, focus on programs and the rejection of toxic political speech, divisive political discourse, lies about “black Greece”.

As the ND President characteristically said, he does not aspire to be a mere steward of power. “I want to make big changes together so that our country can finally change course,” he stressed. “We have achieved a lot. We can achieve much more. I firmly believe that better days, especially in the economy, are ahead of us.”

He even asked during the pre-election period for the preservation of unity, the rejection of toxicity and the emphasis on the right political discourse.

“We look up, but standing on the ground, we are not arrogant,” he stressed, thus sending a message deep into the New Democracy.
