Androulakis of Rhodes: PASOK is the real enemy of New Democracy

His faction PASOK will once again be “a real alternative that the Greek people need,” stressed President PASOK in his speech in Rhodes tonight – KINAL Nikos Androulakis blaming him Kyriakos Mitsotakis for “contempt for the intellect of the Greek people.”

“We will put two feet in one foot for those who think we will accept what they ask of us,” he characteristically said elsewhere in his speech, signaling that PASOK was not going to back down.

At the start of his speech, Mr. Androulakis stressed that in a few years PASOK would once again be a strong opponent of the New Democracy and a real alternative progressive faction that the country needs.

In his speech, Mr. Androulakis elaborated on the economy and wages, stressing that wage growth is only nominal and that incomes will decline in 2023, whatever the consequences for workers and the middle class.

“All the data show the impoverishment of the Greek people,” said Mr. Androulakis, pointing out that in Portugal, where the data is similar to Greece, the results were different.

“I am sounding the alarm about a well-connected populist government that despises the intelligence of the Greek people and their real problems, increasing inequality daily at the expense of the middle class,” added Nikos Androulakis, who also mentioned the controversy that broke out between PASOK and the New Democracy over taxes , emphasizing that the ND serves the few at the expense of the many.

At the same time, he clarified that the taxation requested by PASOK-KINAL concerns dividends and not business profits, noting that the Mitsotakis government protects the interests of the few. “They are not tormented by the middle class, but by the few who support them,” he added.

Mr. Androulakis also criticized SYRIZA, arguing that it has changed its position regarding the taxation of profits and dividends. “It becomes clear who is in a stable position and who is the sponsor of New Democracy, and they are responsible for the fact that Mr. Mitsotakis received 40%,” he added.

The President of PASOK – Movement for Change reiterated that PASOK is the true opponent of New Democracy, explaining his party’s position on changing VAT, tax-free parental benefits and reducing indirect taxes.

“The PASOK opposition will put both feet in one foot because we call a spade a spade,” added Mr. Androulakis.
