“The only ones who talk about the future of the country are us, New Democracy. We do not waste ourselves on shadow battles and civil strife, which, in the end, are of no interest to citizens,” said the ND chairman, among other things, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
“When you set the bar high, you have to jump even higher,” Mr. Mitsotakis characteristically remarked to ANT1 as he raised the stakes again for the June 21st runoff.
“For me, the bar is a comfortable parliamentary majority, I constantly explain to the world why I want an independent government, which is a condition for making big changes that the country needs. Nobody would want an unstable majority of one, two or three deputies. The New Democracy government has proven that it can integrate leaders from other political spheres,” he said.
In response to a question about the next Council of Ministers, Mr Mitsotakis announced a broad “rotation”, as he said, and the participation of more women. He accused SYRIZA and PASOK of having ulterior motives in the economy and especially in taxation, and that they “equally love overtaxing.”
To the point, the New Democracy president pushed for more control, support for the vulnerable, and more disposable income. Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that the first bill of his possible next government will deal with the renewal of the staffing table, and the second will deal with tax policy priorities.
