Dear Mr. President,
My desire from the very beginning of the government term was the consolidation of procedures and rules that would guarantee institutional memory and continuity in the smooth operation of state and state administration. The Public Staff Law serves precisely this philosophy of continuity and continuity to ensure medium and long term political planning, timely regulatory planning, streamlined legislative process, accountability to citizens, and sufficient readiness of every government to fulfill its obligations. national and European commitments.
In the context of the foregoing, as well as the corresponding duties of the Prime Minister, I hand over to you today, assuming your duties:
a) Brief description of the role, functions and results of the chairmanship of the government.
b) Consolidated public policy plan for 2023 drawn up in accordance with the provisions of Law 4622/2019.
c) A general note with the country’s international obligations, as well as regulatory decisions to be issued by the relevant ministries in June.
d) File with critical operational milestones for the next quarter of the ministry’s annual action plans.
In addition, I would like to inform you that during June the European Commission will evaluate our country’s third request to the Recovery and Resilience Fund for a total of 1.72 billion euros, which concerns part of the “Greece 2.0” subsidies. In this context, the services of the European Commission may request additional information, changes and acts of administration on the milestones and their results, which were submitted as achieved by the Greek authorities at the beginning of May. Any additional documentation regarding the stages of the reform is carried out through the General Secretariat for coordination in cooperation with the relevant ministry.
In addition, meetings of the technical levels of the Greek authorities, coordinated by the General Secretariat with the relevant levels of the European institutions (European Commission, European Central Bank, ESM) are scheduled for June in the context of the 3rd post-program oversight report, which is expected to be finalized and published in end of the third quarter of this year.
At the same time, the technical levels of the Greek authorities will meet with their IMF counterparts in the coming days in the context of consultations on the Fund’s Article 4 report, which is expected to be finalized and published in September 2023.
Within the framework of the European semester, these days the European Commission publishes a national report (country report) and national recommendations (country-specific recommendations), which the Greek government will comment through the General Secretariat for Coordination and the Council of Economic Experts.
Finally, meetings of the Interdepartmental Working Group on the preparation of a new fire season for the current year will continue in June.
