The next parliamentary elections will take place on Sunday, 21 May 2023.
Voting lasts from 7:00 to 19:00.
The exercise of the right to vote in accordance with the electoral law is mandatory.
Those who will be abroad on election day and those over 70 years of age are exempted by law from the mandatory exercise of the right to vote.
Also, voters registered on special non-resident electoral lists, but the establishment of a special electoral district for non-residents was not possible due to the failure to fill the number of at least forty (40) non-resident voters of the same main electoral district throughout the appeal district (Article 96, part 1 Presidential Decree 26/2012).
Voters vote at polling stations established within the time limits by decisions of the competent bodies of regional power.

Attention: For the convenience of voters, it is recommended to first use the online application on the website www.ypes.gr “Learn how to vote” and only in case of difficulty contact the citizen information service by phone so that they can be informed about the constituency that is voting.
6. What should I do if I don’t find my name on the voter lists?
If you do not find your name on the voter lists, contact the municipality on whose voters list you are registered before voting ends.
The lists of voters for the elections of May 21, 2023 include changes until February 28, 2023 and are not subject to changes. Your request for re-election may have been filed after February 28, 2023. In the event of future elections, contact your municipality to update your details.
You are registered in the municipal registers of two or more municipalities. In the parliamentary elections on 21 May, you must vote in the municipality of your legal registration, which is checked after you apply to the respective municipalities. The court representative will ask you to sign a sworn statement that you know you are registered twice, that you have not voted and will not vote elsewhere. These statements will be collated at the Home Office and cross-referenced. This process ensures the legitimacy of the elections.

Greek citizens who live or will be abroad on Election Day will be able to exercise their right to vote, provided that they apply on the platform of the Ministry of the Interior apodimoi.gov.gr by April 10, 2023 and receive approval.

Those who work 5 days are entitled to:
• Those who will move from 200-400 km, 1 working day
• Those who move from 401 km or more, 2 working days if they are traveling entirely by road on the basis of their responsible declaration.
Those who work 6 days are entitled to:
• Those who will move from 100-200 km, 1 working day
• Those who will move from 201-400 km, 2 working days
• For those who will move from 401 km or more, 3 working days
For both of the above cases, for those who move to islands that are not accessible, the number of vacation days will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the distance and special conditions of movement, without this vacation more than 3 working days.
Voters arrive at the polling station and present themselves to the election commission, which certifies their identity and checks their registration on the voter lists. Voters enter the polling station singly or in small groups in the order of their arrival and in the manner specifically established by each election commission.
The identification of voters for exercising their right to vote is based on their police identification card in physical or digital form, or the relevant temporary certificate of the competent authority, or their passport, or driver’s license, or individual medical card of all insurance funds. .
To each voter, the election commission issues an envelope with special inscriptions, paraphrases of a representative of the judiciary and the seal of the commission, as well as a complete series of paper ballots of all combinations and candidates.
Voters who, due to physical weakness, cannot do this, have the right to apply for this purpose to a representative of the justice body or a member of the election commission, who are obliged to help them.
A voter is prohibited from putting his ballot into the ballot box: a) if it is not inside an envelope with a special sign (diagonal line), or if the envelope is not closed, or if the envelope does not have the seal and initials of the legal representative and b) if the voter has not previously retired into a separate zone (screen).
A voter who has voted shall, at his request, be issued an appropriate certificate signed by the chairman of the election commission and affixed with its seal.
We vote exclusively with a cross (+) to the left or right of the ballot. If we put a cross on both the left and right, the ballot is considered invalid.
You must appear in person at your polling station.
B. SPECIFIC INFORMATION CONCERNING THE EXERCISE OF THE RIGHT TO VOTE
Greece has 59 constituencies.
It depends on the number of seats in the constituency. A voter may express their preference for combination candidates by ticking the preference cross next to their name on the ballot as follows:
a) in constituencies where one to three deputies are elected, a cross.
b) in constituencies where four to seven deputies are elected, up to two crosses.
c) in constituencies where eight to twelve deputies are elected, up to three crosses, and
d) in electoral districts where more than thirteen deputies are elected – up to four crosses.
Political parties must receive at least 3% of the vote to be able to elect a Member of Parliament.
