Elections: Scenarios for “special purpose” authorities lit bonfires

A new frontal conflict has arisen in the triangle Piraeus, commander And Harilaou Trikoupi in connection with the “special purpose” government formation scenario referred to by Alexis Tsipras at a cross-channel press conference.

The President of SYRIZA was asked if he would consider forming a short-lived government to clean up the political system after the surveillance case: “What concerns me at the moment is victory. Because victory opens up the prospect of a long-term and stable progressive government. From there, let’s look at the results and we’ll see, we’ll have a chance to chat and evaluate. I do not exclude in advance the possibility of such a discussion, which may arise the day after the elections, but my goal is not a special purpose government.

It is possible that Alexis Tsipras, continuing to put pressure on Harilaou Trikoupi, once again threw the ball “into the field” of PASOK, but this message provoked a reaction from the prime minister in an interview he gave to ANT1: “Shortly before the end of the pre-election period, the masks fell. When I spoke a long time ago about underground channels of communication for the government of misfits, I could not imagine that the government of misfits would become the government of the desperate.” The prime minister added that “what we are now discussing would be something completely unheard of in a Greek context, i.e. a government that would have no other job than investigating the wiretapping scandal. I wonder if this government will also interfere with justice? Because the scandal is in justice. In parliament, anyone who wants to, and in the next parliament, can create another commission of inquiry. He has the right to do so in accordance with the regulations.”

What did Alexis Tsipras mean? As if SYRIZA is the first party and Nikos Androulakis keeps asking another person for prime minister, the only scheme that could work is a short-lived majority for 2-3 months, absolutely aimed at cleaning up the political system. Sources in Komunduru speak of a hypothetical scenario and make it clear that the persistence of the PASOK president is an insult to the citizens who elect Alexis Tsipras as prime minister in the elections.

The controversy continued with a comment by Akis Shertsos: “He tells us that in an era of major international crises, national problems and a dire need for stability and strong leadership, he is open to any extremist government plan that serves his blind ends.” Popi Tsapanidou replied to the government official: “Mr. Schertzos will probably come for another interview. Unless too much panic breeds madness.” Nikos Androulakis opposed the formation of a special purpose government. ALPHA: “Mr Tsipras said the government with a vote of tolerance, then he said the government with Varoufakis, now he is saying something new. My position is that a strong PASOK on Sunday night leads to a stable, normal government.”

How likely is the formation of a special-purpose government? Based on poll formations, we need either three parties and tolerance of one, or four parties sharing support and tolerance in parliament.. And to create an investigative committee, however, at the initiative of the opposition, 120 deputies are required, and for a pre-investigation majority – 151. Can it be compared with the “special purpose” government formed in the summer of 1989 under Tsannis Tsannetakis? 34 years ago, there was a statute of limitations on the Koskotas scandal, but now, with the change in the Constitution, there is no statute of limitations. The second element is that New Democracy and the Coalition had a majority of 173 MPs at the time.
