In the Prime Minister’s proposal “that party programs be evaluated by an official body, whether it be the General Accounting Office of the State or the Bank of Greece”, formulated by Mr. Mitsotakis during a political leaders’ teleconference, the government representative returns Akis Shertsos supplement and expand it in the new parliamentary term.
“The financial programs of the parties must be reliable and feasible. For this reason, we invite and encourage you to agree to two things:
1) immediately send all parties our financial programs for calculation of the cost to one of the following three bodies: the GLC, the Hellenic Tax Board or the Bank of Greece. We have already estimated our own economic program at 9 billion euros, cumulatively over four years, with GLK figures maintained by the General Secretariat for Fiscal Policy.
2) to vote during the next parliamentary term for a law that would oblige parties to submit their financial programs for evaluation to the Hellenic Tax Board before they are officially announced.
Will they answer? State Minister Akis Schertzos said in a statement.
