
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the Economics-Development-Employment debate section and when asked by Sia Cosioni about natural gas price, inflation and accuracy, he said: “The problem of inflation is global. Now it is falling in our country, but food prices remain high. Greater price transparency, it serves the consumer basket. Emergency support for households tested with the market pass, and most importantly, a constant increase. The main commitment is to raise wages in the second four years. Inflation will fall, but this wage increase will be permanent.”
In a follow-up question on food prices, Mr. Mitsotakis said that “food prices will also go down because food inflation will also decrease. The market pass is a proven tool, and I am open to discussing its extension for the second half of the year. Where they tried to reduce VAT, we did not receive a significant benefit for the consumer.”
