Elections: against Plastiras and Andreas

Entering the last stretch of the road to the elections, the center-left parties are in the midst of divisions with a strong flavor of the distant past, with the opinions exchanged by their leaders being particularly acerbic, which, as noted, creates additional obstacles to any prospects of their cooperation after simple proportional elections.

In the center is President of SYRIZAwho opened the front, how to him PASOK President like with him VK K.E. KKE.

informal debate

In this context, the informal debate that has unfolded over the past 48 hours between Mr. Al. Tsipras And N. Androulakisagainst the backdrop of the founder’s personality Andrea Papandreou.

Regarding the fact that the SYRIZA program presented by Mr. Tsipras was called “Contract for Change”, i.e. using terms referring to the “era of Andreas” nearly 43 years ago, commented among other things the current leader of PASOK (SKY):

“Mr Tsipras, trying to imitate PASOK and its slogans, becomes the gravedigger of Andreas Papandreou. We live in a different era.”

These reports by the President of PASOK did not go unanswered by Mr. Tsipras: “Mr. Androulakis must understand one thing. That he doesn’t own Andreas. Andreas belongs to History,” he said characteristically (SKAI). Mr. Androulakis replies (openly): “I am the leader of the party founded by Andreas Papandreou, and Mr. Tsipras is the leader of the party that put Andreas Papandreou in prison. This is the latest story.”

The split between SYRIZA, PASOK and the KKE deepens in the last stretch of the road to elections.

The front opened by Mr. Tsipras with Perissos goes even further back in history, namely to 1952.

Due to the fact that the Communist Party and personally Mr. dec. Koutsoumpas they constantly emphasize the similarities between the government’s policy proposals and its actions. N.D. and his SYRIZA, the president of SYRIZA (ANT1) mentioned the position of the left communists when, in the elections of 1952, Al. Papagos and N. Plastiras, who were then respectively considered representatives of conservative and centrist politics.

KKE then he kept an equal distance from them with the symbolic phrase “What plasticine, what papagos, white dog, black dog of the generation.”

“wrong line”

“We must learn from the wrong choice of the left in the history of the Movement and the struggle of the Greek people. “What kind of Plastiras, what kind of Papagos” was the wrong line, for which both the popular movement and the country paid the price.

In these matters, Mr. Koutsoubas should read a little about the history and rich history of the KKE. “What is Plastiras, what is Papagos” cannot be true now.”

The answer of the KKE was immediate: “The slogan “what Plastiras, what Papagos” is historically justified. The harsh post-civil state of executions, exile and imprisonment catered to both right-wing and centrist governments of the time. All this is known to those who have read the history of the workers’ popular movement.

It is obvious that as far as Mr. Tsipras is connected with the working people’s movement, he is connected with History to the same extent.
