The application for release filed by the “Hellenic National Party” of Ilias Kasidiaris against three members of the Plenum of the Political Section A1 of the Supreme Court was unanimously rejected.

This department of the Supreme Court is entrusted with the task of verifying the legality of the participation of parties in the upcoming parliamentary elections on May 21, 2023.

Recall that yesterday the “National Party – Greeks”, founded by Ilias Kasidiaris, convicted for the head of a criminal organization, filed a petition for the release of three Areopagites, citing publications that said that the three judges were holding a preliminary conference to prepare a rationale for refusal for his side.

The A1 Political Division of the Supreme Court is currently in the process of announcing the parties, associations of parties and individual candidates who have applied for participation in the May 21, 2023 elections. The statement of the parties is expected on the evening of the upcoming Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
