On the possibility of its origin Kasidiaris party in the election, Mr. Dudonis noted that “what does it look like here? It seems that we have, to put it simply, a quarrel between Mr. Kanellopoulos and Kasidiaris, and the latter’s party is losing to another president.. The provision in its current form states that a party cannot participate in elections if its actual leadership has been convicted of, among other things, a criminal organization. Let me remind you that in discussing this provision and its formulation, we made key statements. In particular, we are focusing on the issue of real leadership as PASOK.”
Mr Dudonis explained: “What is true leadership? One is in front, and the other is someone who, judging by his actions, appears to be in command or taking virtual leadership, or playing a leading political role. Casidiaris, when the first of the provisions was passed, of which there would be no second if they had listened to us, went to the Speaker of the Parliament and presented a long letter, which he signed as Casidiaris for this party. Thus, he widely signed that he is a true leader.”
Regarding the issue of cooperation after the elections, Mr. Dudonis explained: “We excluded Mr. Varoufakis from the first second. What can you say to stop them lying? So, from today I will begin to say that the New Democracy will rule with Varoufakis. To be precise, this is even more likely than a co-rule of PASOK with Varoufakis. Because Varoufakis, New Democracy and SYRIZA signed a counter-memorandum together. PASOK has never been on this front of absurdity and simple solutions.”
Finally, on the New Democracy spokesman’s claims of lower inflation in Greece, Mr. Doudonis commented: “Don’t you look at purchasing power? Can’t you see the inequality that has increased tremendously? Look at whatever you want. Kind of weird.”
