Mitsotakis-Samaras: a sign of the unity of Messinia

Yesterday’s event at the Vassilis Constantakopoulos airport in Messinia, dedicated to the signing of a contract for the construction of the Kalamata-Rizomilos-Pylos-Methoni road axis in the southwestern Peloponnese, was a message of unity. In the presence of the former prime minister Antonis Samaras, Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke warmly about the former president in ND, noting that the project “would not have come to launch without the participation and interest of Antonis Samaras. His project, and he completed his studies in difficult conditions, while for four years the fate of the project, like many others, was unknown.

On this occasion, Mr. Mitsotakis made a short retrospective of the era of the Samara government, “the government that tried to keep the country on its feet and fell when SYRIZA overthrew it with the voices of the Golden Dawn.” Continuing in the same vein, the Prime Minister recalled that SYRIZA came to power in due time, “turning the sky with stars”, blaming the official opposition for saying today that they took us out of the memorandums. “What memorandums?” the prime minister asked, recalling that “in 2014, the difference between the government and creditors was minimal. And if the government hadn’t fallen, the 5th grade would have been closed. There would be no need for a third memorandum. The third memo that cut wages and crushed pensions was the exclusive creation of the SYRIZA-ANEL government and the failed negotiations that took place in the first half of the year,” he said, and building a bridge to today, he said that “we must restore the truth because they are asking for the opportunity to govern without memos. You brought memorandums, and if you rule again, you will put us in memorandums again,” he concluded.

Concerning SYRIZA, the Prime Minister emphasized that the third memorandum was exclusively his brainchild.

Regarding the project, the Prime Minister noted that these investments not only created jobs, but also brought development to the entire region, while he also said that the vision of the government is best realized in Kalamata and Messinia, since “the history of this road sums up the history of the previous decade “.

Tour of the three prefectures

The Prime Minister has previously traveled to three different prefectures in the Peloponnese, focusing on the major development projects that have been completed and the positive story that ND wants to promote. before the elections. The tour started from the traditionally “blue” Argolis, where the Prime Minister was present at the signing of the contract for the road connection between Argos and Nafplion with the A7 motorway, and then visited Mycenae and Nafplio. Arcadia then visited the Astros for the 200th anniversary celebrations of the Second National Assembly and Megapolis, an area Mr. Mitsotakis described as the “energy heart” of the country, emphasizing that the goal in the primary sector is to “reduce production costs in general through photovoltaics.” , which can be used by farmers and livestock breeders.

Strong support before the elections

Yesterday’s presence of Antonis Samaras at the contract signing event for the Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni development project, a month before the elections, was impressive on a symbolic level. The former prime minister, who first took the podium, mentioned the value of the project to Messinia and the actions taken by his own government, asking everyone to remember the period 2012-2014, when studies continued and studies bypassing Pylos were compiled, which he said , “I have the assurance that this will be scheduled immediately so that the axis of the road is fully completed.” Mr. Samaras added that thanks to these efforts, “the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis was able to sign the contract”, and also mentioned the opening of a new Peace Court in Pylos, noting that all projects are being implemented by the current government of N.D. “Our faction is showing the only path the country has. A path of hope, anticipation and development,” he added, clearly expressing his support for the government ahead of the elections. Earlier, Mr. Samaras dined at Kalamata Restaurant with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
