He described as a “smearing campaign” the fact that Mr. Tsipras and SYRIZA-PS allegedly knew and concealed this, “while neither Androulakis, nor Meimarakis, nor Weber, nor even Ms. Chronopulu”.

Papadimoulis explained in detail, according to a related statement from Eurogroup SYRIZA-PS: “I invited Alexis Georgoulis myself in 2022 after I became aware of some vague rumors of ‘sexual harassment’ against him. I called him properly, but he flatly refused, calling it slander. I reported this to my party. Then we continued to look for it as much as we could and with all the possibilities that we had as SYRIZA-PS, but we did not find anything, because no one knew about this whole process. As seen in Ms Chronopoulou’s shocking post, her parents didn’t know either. Her closest associate Nikos Androulakis also learned about this on Monday. It is impossible that no one knew this, but Tsipras and Papadimoulis supposedly do. According to him, “in just 15 minutes, Mr. Georgoulis was expelled from both the Eurogroup and our party. Because we don’t play with these problems. It is a matter of principles, we are with the victims, not with the perpetrators. That is why we are in favor of lifting the immunity of Alexis Georgoulis as soon as possible so that the case can be considered by the Belgian judiciary.”
