Mitsotakis: Line 4 will be ready by the end of the decade

PM visits construction site of Metro Line 4 in Katehaki Kyriakos Mitsotakiswas briefed on the progress of the project and attended the naming of one of the two tunnel boring machines.

After the name “metropontics”, which was called “Athena“, continued the prime minister.

“Line 4 is the largest state project to be implemented in the coming years”

“Today is a very important day for the infrastructure of our capital, as we call the first of the two “metropontics”, this huge moving “factory” that will open the main tunnel of the 4th metro line.

Metro Line 4 is the largest public project to be implemented in our country in the coming years. By the end of the decade, Line 4 will be ready. As the minister said, it will serve almost 350,000 of our Athenian fellow citizens and will greatly alleviate the transport problem of the capital.

This government is launching another major infrastructure project. We wish the new “metropondica” fast speeds and hope to meet all the deadlines so that this extremely important infrastructure project will be handed over to the Athenians as planned in advance.

Once again, congratulations to everyone who started this work, and good luck in choosing a name for the next one. The next one we will call “Niki” will start on the other side of line 4, from “Alsos Veikou”, very soon. For these two to meet at an evangelism, hopefully in a few months anyway, depending on how fast they can move.”

The Prime Minister was welcomed at the construction site, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Giorgos Karagiannis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ATTIKO METRO SA Nikos Takhiaos, Managing Director of the company Nikos Kouretas, Managing Director of AVAX SA and Legal Representative of the Line 4 Consortium Kostas Mitsalis and Line 4 Technical Manager and Project Manager AVAX SA Nikos Spiridonakos.
