Mitsotakis: Luben ballot papers SYRIZA do not belong to the middle ground party

The Prime Minister spoke about the “lumpen bulletins” of SYRIZA. Kyriakos Mitsotakiscommenting on the choice of the people and in particular the involvement of Evangelos Antonaros.

“Some of SYRIZA’s decisions were more laughable than serious about its ability to achieve any significant expansion,” Mr. Mitsotakis stressed, after a related question about Mr. Antonaros’ candidacy, in an interview with Thessaloniki Municipal Radio FM100. .

“The SYRIZA ballot includes Mr. Pappas, irrevocably convicted by the Supreme Court; Mr. Polakis, who was excluded from the ballot before his return because, after all, SYRIZA clearly expresses polarization and could not be absent as its main representative; as well as a number of other candidates who cite more lumpen ballots than those of a party that really wants to claim the middle ground and present this party as a credible alternative proposal for governance,” Mr. Mitsotakis said.

“EYDAP and EYATH will return to the state”

The Prime Minister accused Mr. Tsipras of hypocrisy on the water issue, saying that the SYRIZA government transferred the assets of EYDAP and EYATH to the Superfund and thus initiated the privatization.

He promised that the assets of EYDAP and EYATH would be returned to the Greek state, but clarified that this could not be done with an amendment the day before the closing of parliament, as suggested by SYRIZA, because an agreement had to be reached with the creditors.

“Metro Thessaloniki in the first months of 2024”

Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized that his candidacy in the 1st constituency of Thessaloniki testifies not only to his personal interest in the city, but also to the interest he intends to show until the citizens elect him again as prime minister, in order to continue even more high speed projects in the area.

As for the subway, he said it would be handed over to citizens in the first months of 2024 and promised to continue its westward expansion.

Plan of Western Thessaloniki

He noted that with today’s visit to the capital, he wants to highlight the problems of northwestern Thessaloniki, where there are six municipalities that show the largest population growth, and their residents are not “children of the lower God”, for this reason, he will present a general action plan for the region .

According to him, this plan includes:

  • A new oncology hospital to be built in the Caratassiu camp.
  • Construction of 10 new model school units in the municipalities of Western Thessaloniki.
  • Extension of commuter train to western Thessaloniki to use already existing lines and facilitate traffic also to the industrial area of Sindos.
  • Places of culture active in Western Thessaloniki.
  • The metropolitan park of Pavlos Melas, in which work is already underway.
  • Use of the Ziaka camp to implement a model social housing program.

The Prime Minister visited the National Center for Research and Technological Development (ECETA), which, he said, “is often ranked as the best research center in the country, where very serious competitive applied research is carried out, and this is the Greece of innovation.” extraversion that we want to emphasize and support, which is expressed in the actions of EKETA.”
