The Epirus Development Program 2030 aims to make the region “a true protagonist, not only in development, but also in social cohesion, environmental protection and quality of life,” the prime minister emphasized. Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his speech at the presentation of the program, prepared jointly with the government, the region and local government.
As he pointed out, this is a development roadmap, a joint action plan that outlines the path “to make Epirus a real protagonist from a lagging behind in a number of other indicators.
“This is the 9th presentation of the Regional Development Plan,” the Prime Minister said and noted that “they all have one thing in common: they are a consistent plan that provides for resources, specific executive bodies, and implementation schedules. And that, I think, separates the efforts that we have made from other attempts at regional planning in the past, expressing the conviction that these attempts were made for communicative and not for substantive reasons.
“The plan obliges everyone, the government and local government, to be consistent, complete and implement projects that are underway, such as repairing roads in villages and other actions indicated by the region and included in it.”
