Its president visited Ilion today PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakiswhere he sent a message that “PASOK is here to give answers to the underprivileged”.
Criticizing the government’s economic policy, he spoke of “the development of a so-called extraversion in which, instead of creating many and good jobs, half of them are part-time jobs for 500 euros.”
On the issue of red loans President PASOK-Movement for Change criticized SYRIZA for “although it promised private debt cancellations, it turned bad loans over to fund crows.”
Referring to the need protection of the first place of residenceMister. Androulakis emphasized that “the law of 2010 saved the first place of residence of thousands of our fellow citizens during the years of the great economic crisis. We negotiated this legislative framework against the toughest trio. This law was repealed by the SYRIZA government and repealed by the Mitsotakis government. We are updating it with today’s data to ensure that no home is lost to families who are unable to meet their loan obligations. Families who honestly fought, but their income is not enough to cover their needs. For these people there should be universal protection of the first house. We want a fair solution to the issue of private debt, and not burning the greens along with the dry – strategic defaulters.
The President of PASOK-Movement for Change highlighted the acute problem of high housing costs and reiterated the party’s proposal for a pool of 150,000 social housing units that would be available at low rents to families with social criteria. “We don’t say, like Mr. Mitsotakis, ‘take low-interest loans to acquire new assets’. We propose to create a pool of low-cost housing for young couples, students and retirees, so that due to competition, rents in urban centers generally fall,” he said.
He advocated taxing the excess profits of banks arising from the large gap between rates on deposits and rates on loans.
“We have allocated billions from the taxes of the Greek people to support the banking system. This does not mean that it does not provide liquidity to SMEs and results in a disadvantage for borrowers,” said the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.
About the tragic railway accident in St. TempeMr. Androulakis stressed that PASOK-Movement for Change has submitted to Parliament the Opinion of the Transparency Office, which indicates who is responsible for the delay in the implementation of contract 717 for the installation of a remote control system on the railway.
“Instead of a cockfight between Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Mitsotakis, we urge them to immediately stand trial with all the evidence from the Transparency Authority, so that the Greek people can find out who is really responsible for the Tempi tragedy,” he stressed.
“The nightmare of populism that undermines public debate must end. Who does not want us to discuss programs, but discuss bugs. We started this election campaign by putting the program in the field of conflict. I heard no response from our political opponents when I promised the Greek people that all public organizations and hospitals would have leadership selected through open international tenders. Do they agree with what we are saying, or will they continue to appoint their “party children”, using the state as booty in their hands? On the contrary, we need a state guarantor of the public interest,” Mr. Androulakis emphasized, developing the PASOK-Movement for Change programmatic commitments.
“I haven’t heard them respond to our NHS proposals, bad loans, social housing. I only heard the alarm of Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Mitsotakis about who the “unknown X” is. Not these two, because it is known what they have done in the last eight years, deceiving the Greek people. We are asking for a strong mandate to be able to implement a program that will empower weak Greeks and reduce inequalities,” Mr. Androulakis emphasized in regards to the post-election partnership.
“Against these two options, Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Mitsotakis, we are talking about people who enjoy universal recognition. So I will not arrogantly say who will be the next prime minister, because all this, like program coincidences, is part of the dialogue and agreements between the parties. We ask for a strong mandate to make the country a normal European country, where the state will guarantee the public interest, and the political system will serve the programmatic obligations, and not the client interests of the oligarchs,” concluded Mr. Androulakis.
“My political opponents have internalized the toxicity, divisiveness, and discrediting of public dialogue. We will not play in their stadium. We will play in our stadium. Realism and progress,” said the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.
