“Green light” yesterday at KYSEA for the supply of Israeli Spike-NLOS missile systems.

Agreement

Meanwhile, yesterday, after nearly two years of negotiations and discussions, Israel completed delivery of the Spike-NLOS multipurpose long-range missile systems. The Rafael system was procured through an intergovernmental agreement and the total cost is expected to exceed $350 million (about $260 million for the Army, $52 million for the Navy, and $43 million for the Air Force). Most of the systems will be installed on wheeled army vehicles. Some of these are for Army Air Force Apache helicopters, and for anti-ship applications will be those deployed on Navy gunboats and possibly on unorthodox Special Forces warships.

The decision was made yesterday by the Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense (KYSEA), which was due to meet for the second time in 45 days to permanently cut off supplies. During yesterday’s KYSEA, it was also confirmed that none of the equipment related to the main parts (new corvettes, MEKO modernization) is going to arrive before the elections. While in the coming days, Athens will send a letter to the US Department of Defense and the manufacturer of the 5th generation F-35 fighter jet, which is under consideration and in which, it seems, the participation of the domestic industry in the program will be requested, but not included in the cost so called SSI.
