Loverdos: PASOK’s response is aggressive and clear – I will not continue

He considers the issue that arose with PASOK-KINAL regarding the nomenclature of the new prime minister to be settled. Andreas Loverdos.

He stressed that he did not want to continue, however, referring to the “rather aggressive” position on the part of Harilaou Trikoupis.

“I want this story to end here. What we had to say in terms of policy was said last week. My own intervention was clear, the reaction of my party, which was quite aggressive, was also clear,” Mr Loverdos told OPEN.

And he continued by saying, “I have not followed and will not follow. I think what needed to be said was said last week. And when we were a very big party and now that we are the party that we are and that we don’t want to stay in it, we had the advantage that we had different opinions, but when we had common goals, such like elections, we were together.”

Chronology

It all started in the middle of last week, when Andreas Loverdos indirectly criticized Nikos Androulakis’s opinion on the choice of the prime minister after the elections.

“When we go to the polls and reject people, we also have to propose people so that citizens have a clear picture,” PASOK-KINAL MP and former MP told SKAI.

He stressed that it is “at the discretion” of N. Androulakis to say before the elections whom he is nominating for the post of prime minister. And he added that “firstly, PASOK has a leader, so whoever votes for him, he votes for him to be the leader of the country.”

This was followed by a sharp reaction from the leaders of Harilaou Trikoupis, who commented: “It is politically paradoxical that A. Loverdos has common concerns with G. Economou and A. Schertzos.”

“I am not the person to be removed”

Yesterday, Mr. Loverdos returned to the matter: when asked if he was worried about the possibility of it being removed, he replied that “I am not a person who is removed” and added that “I am not the kind of person that you can“ eat ” easy, excellent and jerky.

Responding to a comment that what he said sounded arrogant and that the President of PASOK had the right to be expelled, he noted that “we must be on the other line, something very serious must be done.”

“I am fighting with all my might, and thanks to my presence in parliament, I am fighting the battle of absolute criticism of the failed government through my party and within the ranks of my party. And I’m doing very well. Therefore, I cannot enter into this discussion and I consider it absolutely humiliating for the one who does it, for the one who does it, and not for me,” Mr Loverdos told SKAI yesterday.
