The phrase “either you kill us or we kill you” sums up the policy statements of SYRIZA, that is, the party that will soon come to ask for our vote. The level of political confrontation is determined by Mr. Polakis. And the obscenity of what the supporters of SYRIZA are throwing at the Prime Minister is bottomless. Since I have neither a short memory nor a break from books, I can easily recognize these three: they are the hexapterygium of all totalitarianism. Whose ultimate goal is to knock the opponent down and run over him like a paver. As a means, he uses the degradation of political confrontation (polarization). Parliamentarism must turn into a tavern brawl so that no one else wants to serve it. It is still necessary to decapitate any leader piece. To this end, you begin by drowning him in curses so that when you proceed to physically exterminate him, you can present it as ridding society of a bastard.
The ease with which SYRIZA led the far-right party leaves no room for hope that he will refuse to remarry, both to the right, for example, and to the right. with Velopoulos or the remnants of the Golden Dawn or to the left, with ANTARSIA, KKE, Varoufakis. Of course, such a “wife” will not prevent him from doing what he has been complaining about since he lost the government, that is, “controlling the joints of power”, that is, shackling us in handcuffs.
With this data, my choice in the elections is simplified. First of all, I don’t want to “finish off” anyone. But nobody! Even the serial killer, Kufontina, I just want him to stay in his prison so he doesn’t kill others. Let him do what he wants there, weave baskets, write books, learn to play the violin – except, of course, propaganda of violence and organization of new executions.
Secondly, this dilemma – I finish you or you finish me – has long been eliminated, as everyone who paid attention in high school or even once watched “Oresteia” knows. The goddess Athena decided that from now on the Law, and only the Law, will resolve differences between people. Societies throughout the Western world and beyond are organized around this idea.
And thirdly, SYRIZA’s stated desire to “control the joints of power” shows me what awaits the judiciary if I give it another chance to govern.
Our current state is not perfect, but it is nonetheless much, much, much better than the treacherous dilemma of mutual annihilation.
I prefer a party that boldly admits its mistakes and tries again.
Nor have I forgotten how cunningly SYRIZA pushed away the hand extended to her by Mitsotakis when he became Prime Minister.
So, what will someone who does not like the New Democracy vote for because he did this, and for this he was late, and he missed the other … and more … and for the fact that …
These are all likely weaknesses that are worth discussing while we look for the optimum. But when the moment comes to cast your vote – or to answer the question “who will you vote for” – then it seems to me that they are relegated to the background before the overwhelming need to manage our state. In other words, I am called to choose “not manual”.
And since the hand is SYRIZA, which pins me to the wall with the words “either I kill them or you kill me”, then the non-hand is obviously its only serious opponent, the New Democracy.
Which in fact, at least for me, is a party renewed and enriched with new blood, which did not have time to be elected and began to successfully face repeated crises, which boldly admits its mistakes and tries again. The New Democracy of Dendias, Pierrakakis, Herapetritis, Hatsidakis, Georgiadis, Chrysochoidis, Nikos Hardalias and many others, in short, a group organized around him and coordinated by Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
