Maria Tsalla or Irina S., who according to Greek authorities was actively working as a Russian spy in Greece, has traveled to five countries inside and outside the European Union using her fake Peruvian passport.

The investigation by the National Intelligence Service also shows that the young Russian woman had contacts with at least two lawyers in Evia, who confirmed that she lived in the Aliveri area, in order to convince the municipal authorities to register the mysterious “Maria Tsalla” in the census.

According to the Greek authorities, the case began to unfold in January, when the EMP was informed that “something strange is happening” with the case of the young Maria Zalla. It should be considered highly probable that the tip came from a cooperating intelligence service.

This was followed by an investigation at the Amarousiou Registry Office, from which, on November 12, 2018, a birth certificate was issued using information about the stillborn child, i.e. stillborn child or who died during childbirth. The case did not attract the attention of the registry office staff Amarusiu, who failed to establish what happened. In other words, they found a discrepancy between the file already digitized in 2015 and the paper and sent a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs without receiving a response. Russian woman Irina S., having managed to obtain a birth certificate with the data of Maria Tsalla, took care of registration in the municipality of Aliveri. Initially, her attempt went unnoticed, with officials refusing to register her, citing her whereabouts. Subsequently, the young woman secured the support of two local lawyers (their information is at the disposal of the newspaper), who stated that they either hosted Tsalla or knew that she lived in the wider Aliveri area. Thanks to their help, he was registered in the census.

The employees of the Amarusi registry office understood the inconsistency of the certificates and turned to the ministry without receiving a response.

However, at the first stage of her stay in Greece, Irina S. used a fake passport of a citizen of Peru. It turned out that with this passport he traveled to Mexico, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Italy. After receiving Greek travel documents in the name of “Maria Tsalla”, the Greek authorities determined that she had made at least one trip to France.

In 2020, she settled in Pagrati and opened a knitting shop, which she ran until her escape to Russia in early January 2023. The mobile phone she used in Greece was last checked on January 4, 2023. Between 2020, when she settled on Arrianou Street in Pagrati, until her escape in early January, the Russian Irina or Maria maintained a romantic relationship with a Greek citizen, the owner of a foreign language school in the center of Athens. Both he and the girl who worked in the knitting shop were completely unaware of Tsalla’s dual personality. In fact, her romantic partner, outraged that she suddenly left Greece, after saying goodbye to him in a written message, went to a store in Pakratio and took some of the things that he had given to his partner.

In post-flight phone conversations with people in Greece, she claimed that she was depressed and would not return to the country, while asking for a cat to be sent to her, which, however, did not happen. , because it required the issuance of the appropriate certificate. However, Irina S. turns out to be married to a Russian citizen who lived in Brazil on a Brazilian identity card with the data of Daniel Campos. When he, too, left Latin America for Russia, the partner he kept there informed the authorities of his disappearance and posted the news on his social media accounts.

When asked why the case was made public after the young Russian woman managed to leave the country, Greek officials replied that the purpose of the publication was to “burn” any network of contacts that Irina managed to establish in the country, as well as to collect information about her field of activity and contacts in Greece.
