
The Defense Cooperation Program between Greece and Israel for 2023 was signed yesterday in Tel Aviv by Brigadier General Nikolaos Holeva, Director of the International Relations Department of the Greek Defense Ministry, and Head of the International Cooperation Department of the General Staff. The program includes 58 events, of which 25 are exercises, 15 trainings and 18 other events that will take place in both countries and relate, among others:
- Participation in interspecific exercises, as well as in the corresponding individual branches of the Armed Forces.
- Joint training of special forces – Special Operations Forces.
- Participation of trainees in national-interdisciplinary schools and multinational schools, as well as in seminars.
- Staff meetings and conversations on issues of mutual interest.
- Joint training courses on crisis management, electronic warfare, and search and rescue.
“The signing of the program under consideration confirms,” as noted in a related statement by the Greek Ministry of Defense, “the already close military cooperation between Greece and Israel and further deepens the strong ties between their armed forces, helping to strengthen the role of the two countries in ensuring stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean region and outside of it.”
