He added: “By the way: they were not anarchists, leftists, communists or young members of any movement. Bravo Nights were (and seemed to be) the ones who foolishly referred to the lie that I voted for the Memorandum. We will not let the underworld and the underworld divide us. We continue!”

MeRA25 also issued a statement regarding the attack on Janis Varoufakis, speaking of a “brazen fascist attack”, noting: “We are not afraid, we are not afraid, we are not retreating. In the dark we answer with one word: DAY”

“Some time ago, MeRA25 secretary Janis Varoufakis was the victim of a brazen fascist attack by thugs provocateurs. The secretary of MeRA25 was gathering at the Yantes restaurant (a place he frequents) with other Diem25 travelers from all over Europe when a small group of thugs entered the restaurant in a riotous mood, yelling, “Get out, you bastard who signed memos.” Janis Varoufakis stood up to address them. The bandits immediately responded with violence, severely beating the secretary of MeRA25.

Let today’s episode reflect on those who are purposefully spreading the false and slanderous narratives used by today’s thugs. We are not afraid, we do not shirk, we do not back down. In the dark, we answer with one word: DAY.
