Eight people were killed in an attack yesterday on a place of worship for Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The attacker “opened fire on the participants in the ceremony” organized by the community of Jehovah’s Witnesses, police said, adding that some of the victims of the attack were in serious condition.
According to reports, the assailant, in his 30s and 40s, is believed to have been a former member of their community, Spiegel reports.
The German magazine also specifies that the attacker was armed with a pistol.
A spokesman for the Hamburg police was unable to confirm this information and stated that the press conference was scheduled for 13:00 Greek time.
