
Minister of National Defense Nikos Panagiotopoulos held a telephone conversation today with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar, during which he stressed the importance of maintaining communication and meetings between the two sides to create a climate of stability and cooperation.

Mr. Panagiotopoulos expressed his condolences to his Turkish counterpart on the thousands of victims and the devastating consequences of the earthquake in the neighboring country, assuring that Greece will provide Turkey with all possible support in the fight against them.
For his part, Mr. Acar expressed his condolences to Mr. Panagiotopoulos on the loss of life in the tragic railway accident.
