Roussopoulos: My views are not supported by third parties

Theodoros Roussopoulos responded to comments from the entourage of former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis.

“Despite the completely paradoxical and strange information that the office of former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis wants to clarify that my political positions are personal, I have to take it for granted that my views are not approved by third parties. This could never happen.”

What was before

Mr Rousopoulos, speaking to OPEN about the Tempe tragedy, answered the question of whether former transport minister Kostas Ach should be a candidate. Karamanlis: “I won’t tell him what he will do. The world is always the ultimate judge. I will tell you about this in 2008 when I was wrongfully accused of a crime that was justified by the KKE, SYRIZA, 30 PASOK MPs in Parliament in 2010, and also by the court. In 2009, I told Karamanlis that I would not run. I knew that as much as I wanted to run, it would be a situation I couldn’t fight. There are times in politics when you scream and no one hears you, and there are times when you whisper and everyone hears you. No matter how many rights you have, none of the rights will be recognized. Suppose Mr. Karamanlis did well. The focus was on the individual and the government. And fair to the government or any individual in the sense that they bear full responsibility.”

A source from the office of former Prime Minister M. Kostas Karamanlisanswering a journalist’s question, later commented that “the statements of the deputy of parliament N.K. Theodoros Roussopouloswhich relate to the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Kostas Karamanlis, were not known to him and express personally Mr. Roussopoulos.”
