Tulupaki about justification: “Today is the day of justification”

The prosecutor spoke of a “day of acquittal” after she was acquitted by a majority vote in the Special Court. Eleni Tulupakiwhile similar statements were made by her lawyers.

Tulupakis’ statement

“Today is the day of retribution. The Special Court, by its decision, has restored the truth. In the current tragic circumstances that all Greeks are experiencing, it becomes clear once again how important the independence of the judiciary is for the justice of those who seek it,” said Eleni Tulupaki after the acquittal of the court.

And he concludes: “Those who tried to break the free-thinking of the employees of justice were striving for nothing more than arbitrariness without restrictions. Permanent justice means permanent Greece! That’s why I promise I’ll get up.”

Lawyers’ statements

Ioannis Mantzouranis, one of Ms. Toulupakis’s three lawyers, stated the following after the decision was announced:

“The acquittal of Ms. Eleni Tulupakis is a resounding slap in the face of the ‘untouchables’, i.e. those in power in economics and politics, who planned and built against them the well-known “conspiracy theory” in order to subjugate honest accusers and judges by their order.

“Those who think they are above suspicion, criticism and, finally, the law, have failed today, after their deliberate plan against prosecutors and journalists collapsed with a wave to the truth of an honest and courageous prosecutor who fulfilled his duty to the fullest extent. time to investigate the Novartis scandal, which his persecutors sought and, unfortunately, managed to remain uninvestigated and in the deep darkness of confusion.

“However, the Greek judiciary, when it is independent and free, through its decisions offers citizens examples to follow and thereby strengthens the rule of law and a democratic state,” he concluded.

Ms Tulupaki’s second lawyer, Vassilis Cheirdaris, made the following statement:

“The unfair criminal prosecution of an honest and uncompromising prosecutor ended today with a solemn acquittal. The Special Court, composed of experienced and excellent Chief Justices of the CA and SC, has acquitted Ms. Tulupaki unconditionally.”

“It was not just an acquittal, it was a judicial award for a woman who defended the purity of transactions, the protection of the state and citizens and tried to fight corruption without discrimination, without taking into account costs and without taking into account herself.”

And he concludes: “Today is the victory of institutions, the victory of those who fight for the public interest. This is a victory for the rule of law.”

Finally, Vangelis Georgakopoulos stated: “In the days of this great national tragedy, the acquittal of Eleni Tulupaki is not only her rehabilitation, but also the most timely signal – an order to judges and prosecutors not to waver with the great political and economic interests, no matter how high they may be. “.
