
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulidis, the main topic of which was the railway accident in Tempe.
As mentioned in the statements of Maximos and the Cypriot President, Mr. Christodoulidis expressed sincere and deep condolences to himself, the government and the Cypriot people in connection with the tragedy, which resulted in the death of dozens of people.
Mr. Christodoulidis confirmed the readiness of the Republic of Cyprus to provide any necessary assistance in connection with the tragedy.
For his part, Mr. Mitsotakis thanked President Nikos Christodoulidis and informed him of the evolution of the situation, as well as the progress of the investigation regarding the two Cypriot citizens who were on the passenger train and are still missing.
