“I would like you to reserve your warmest applause not for me, but for those who have brought this very important project that we have presented to life, to our teachers, educators, students, students, officials Ministry of Education“, the prime minister said. Kyriakos Mitsotakisat the event of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs on the theme: “4-year project on education – Change in practice”, held in the Concert Hall.
“I will not hide from you that I felt satisfaction and emotion when I saw the summing up of the work done over these 4 years, but first of all, after listening to the personal stories of our fellow citizens who were touched to one degree or another by this very important educational reform that we are implementing,” – the prime minister added, even emphasizing that “it would not be an exaggeration to say that in the last 4 years a quiet revolution has been taking place in education.”
In particular, he emphasized that “the big changes that we have been talking about for decades are finally happening, and we can certainly look citizens in the eye and say yes to the central core of our educational program, as we have presented them. before the 2019 elections, we said and are doing this. We have been consistent in our campaign commitments.”
“Trust-based relations between citizens and politicians are built primarily on trust in words and deeds. I couldn’t help but dwell on perhaps the most important human resource intervention, which is none other than the appointment of 25,000 full-time teachers at all levels of education,” the Prime Minister added.
“We are with libraries, not with sledgehammers, we have proven this in practice. The important work done should have continuity. And let me tell you that if there is a field where the dividing lines between our faction and the official opposition, at the level of perception, at the level of yesterday’s ideologies, are so sharp, then this is the field of Enlightenment. N.D. it must continue so that this very important work that has been done is not canceled and we do not return to other eras that we want to leave behind,” he added.
