His press secretary talks about the announcement of campaign “bonus stripes”. SYRIZA-P.S.Popi Tsapanidou, on the occasion of today’s statement by the Prime Minister.

Ms Tsapanidou mentions in her statement that “from Western Macedonia, a region he himself condemned to decline and unemployment due to forced delignitization — a choice for which all Greeks paid with their electricity bills — Mitsotakis decided, just today, on the eve of the elections, to distribute benefits-stripes to citizens.

In particular, he states that “after having repeatedly deceived pensioners, canceling the 13th pension and cutting retroactively, he now gives them insufficient pre-election benefits.”

He further accuses him of “While thousands of properties are going under the hammer because of his political choices, he has announced half-measures on private debt.”

He also notes that Mr. Mitsotakis, “speaking again about the possibility of a ‘government of losers’, could not hide his real fear: that the day after the elections there will be a government of winners with the SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance.”
