Parliament: SYRIZA is “present” in the arrangement with the Kasidiari party

His denial SYRIZA to cast one’s vote “yes” meant a provision voted yesterday in parliament by a broader majority of the ruling majority, by which criminal organizations that wear the mantle of a political party are prevented from participating in elections, as happened in the recent past with the Nazis golden dawn. The contested provision, which has been improved from its original form – after suggestions and comments from outside PASOKbut also SYRIZA, and also Scientific Council of the Parliament– supported by their vote N.D. and PASOK.

The official opposition party limited itself to “present”, arguing that not all of the changes it proposed were made, but voted against KKE And Day25with the argument that specific rules pave the way for the banning of anti-system left parties, and Greek solution.

“Mr. Tsipras is permanently sidelined from serious issues,” commented government spokesman G. Oikonomou and added, among other things: “At this time – when institutional and historical responsibility imposes a front of radical treatment of criminal organizations that such parties are emerging – again same exception.”

high tones

Earlier, speaking at the plenary session, Mr. Tsipras raised his voice, addressing the ruling faction: “It is not so much the possible presence of neo-Nazis in parliament that worries you, but your petty party calculations. You think that by excluding the Kasidiari party from the elections and at the same time moving to the far-right rhetoric, you will be able to win over voters who, at least according to opinion polls, are going in this direction.”

The Minister of the Interior, M. Voridis, then raised the gauntlet, reversing the argument: “You want the Golden Dawn to come down and you don’t tell us?”.

Changes

Elsewhere, Mr Voridis announced the changes he has made to achieve the highest possible consensus, mentioning among other things: 1) the restriction “only those of a public nature” in terms of offenses to be committed in the attention of Ario Ice to judge the possibility of the participation of a party in elections, 2) the inclusion of the remark that “a judgment that the actions of a political party do not serve the free functioning of a democratic state can only take place when candidates for deputy, founding members or acting the duties of the President are condemned to any extent for crimes under Articles 134, 187 and 187A of the Criminal Code.”

“We submitted comments that led to an improvement in the amendment. Following the positive opinion of the Scientific Service of the Parliament regarding its conformity with the Constitution, we consistently and with a sense of responsibility support an amendment that protects democracy,” said PASOK Chairman N. Androulakis.

As for the controversial issue on behalf of the Greek solution, the only thing that was heard in the first 10 hours of the meeting was the general phrase of Mr. K. Chitas: “We vote against everything unconstitutional and everything that is against democracy.”
