MP Dumitru Foca is offering a new explanation after attacking his wife, saying marital tensions arose “against his full commitment to his political career” and believes the AUR party rushed to expel him without waiting for the conclusion. the official of the investigation Parliamentarian says that he will not resign from the legislative forum, although even the president of the political formation, George Simion, asked him for this gesture. Also, the ex-deputy of the AUR states that he wants to initiate a discussion about violence against women.
- “I decided to make a public statement after several days when I chose not to respond to press inquiries and dozens of phone calls received from local journalists or from the center. With this statement, I do not want to apologize for my concern, as I have already been publicly judged by the massive media coverage of my family’s incident on most televisions. I will take responsibility for the mistake I made, while having the right to defend my public image.
- Without a doubt, there is no justification for any act of violence, especially that directed against family members. The strain in the marriage arose against the background of my full commitment to my political career, working seven days out of seven both in Bucharest and in the territory, where I was always present to listen to citizens’ complaints.
- During these two years, I was not only a parliamentarian from the AUR party, but also a parliamentarian for the people of Constanta. The messages of support received from citizens are proof that I have fulfilled my duty,” Foxa said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.
Referring to what he calls “the case presented on television these days”, the deputy says that it will be exhausted as soon as possible without a real debate about the phenomenon of violence in Romanian families, which would generate adequate solutions to reduce it, the news notes. .ro
“I am ready, together with my fellow parliamentarians, to initiate this discussion myself, realizing the mistake I made. The majority of Romanian families that have suffered from violence also suffer from both material and moral poverty, alcohol consumption, lack of prospects,” says Dumitru Viorel Foca.
AUR asked Fox to resign from parliament
He then criticizes the fact that at the European level there is a joint action plan of member states against domestic violence (the Istanbul Convention), saying that on the surface it is a document with good intentions but saturated with radical ideas, starting with a spectrum of gender ideology that only shows that the European elites do not really want the eradication of this phenomenon, but the imposition of new ideological concepts, with the help of which they want to redefine society according to some unnatural principles.
- “I remain committed to the cause promoted by the conservative party AUR, and I reject these counterproductive and utopian radical ideas of the European left. It is time to put aside demagoguery in favor of honest discussion and the development of appropriate solutions to stop violence in our families.
- My marriage has suffered from abuse, so let me dedicate myself to this cause as a parliamentarian. Divorce or reconciliation with my wife are purely personal matters, so I ask you to publish facts that are accompanied by decisions, not people,” concludes Foxa.
Deputy Dumitra Viorel Foxa, who attacked his wife, was expelled from the AUR and, according to the party’s statement, he must resign from parliament. Party leader George Simion announced this decision in a video recording along with the message: “You can’t beat your wife even with a flower.”
Fox is accused by a media lynching
Dumitru Viorel Foxa told News.ro on Sunday that he was part of a media lynching.
- “My logic was this: when I said that I would resign from the parliament, let’s wait for the results of the investigation. The jury had to make a decision, but made it before the start of the criminal proceedings. In that jury there is a person who, judging by what is heard, will be a candidate on the Konstanz lists in the parliamentary elections. I don’t want to say his name.
- It was a media lynching. This is unfortunate. It was my fault that I dedicated myself, seven out of seven, I worked for the party, I didn’t have a family life, and disappointments gathered at home,” said Dumitru Viorel Foca.
He was asked if he was thinking of challenging the decision to expel him from the party in court.
“I don’t think about it, because if getting a percent or two for the image of the party was more desirable and my work was trampled, then it means that the meritocracy that is being talked about inside the country is pure demagoguery. I don’t want love by force. I don’t see where the GOLD is going. If politics in the AUR is made only after the pursuit of image and some values, some principles of our society are not observed, for example, Justice, and we create justice on television…” – stated the ex-deputy of the AUR.
He believes that his expulsion from the party was a Trotskyist-Stalinist execution.
“I know that I have disturbed many people, I am not saying that I am out of the party. From what I know of history, this is a Trotsky-Stalin style execution. Do not think that everyone is friends with each other in the party, it is a struggle for power, as in any gathering of people. Hopefully we won’t stray too far from God. Sorry for the incident,” Viorel Focha told Dumitru.
