In a statement, Mr. Dendias said he was encouraged to visit the Greek school again in a year and two months (November 2021) and that he would never forget today’s images, while promising to return without ministerial status. In a video posted by Nikos Dendias on his personal social media account, schoolchildren play Greek music, sing carols and sing while waving Greek flags.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also stressed the “very important importance” of the Agios Nikolaos School for the Greek government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. In addition, he noted the contribution of the Tsakos Foundation and the Mytileneos Business Group to Agios Nikolaos. “In Africa, which is the fastest growing continent in the world, it is extremely important to have a good education,” he said.
In this context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs announced a small donation that will enable the students of the school to establish a basketball team, asking that the stadium be named after Giannis Antetokounmpo. A name that unites Greece and Africa, he stressed. “I would be very proud if, when I visit again, I saw you playing on this basketball court, the name of the court would be “Yannis Antetokounmpo”,” he said characteristically.
