April 9 election plan

During the holiday break, he mentioned his final decisions regarding their timing. elections Prime Minister, but Mr. Mitsotakis is reportedly inclined to choose April 9 as the date for the first simple proportional ballots.

Holding elections the week before Easter combines a number of advantages that Megaro Maximos is said to have taken into account:

First, the election will in no way be considered premature, and the prime minister looks set to live up to his obligation to run out four years.

Secondly, for almost two months – until the end of May – the country will avoid further polarization and political upheavals that de facto affect the economy.

Thirdly, all the economic measures announced by the government will “ripen”: from January 1, the solidarity contribution in favor of the state is canceled, and at the same time pensions are increased. Market Pass payments will also begin at the end of February, with a new minimum wage increase that can be announced before the election, effective May 1.

Fourth, the holding of elections on April 9 is considered to be compatible with a more favorable political climate for the authorities, as citizens will be left behind the most costly winter, and the departure of non-residents will also be facilitated, who will be able to combine travel to their constituencies with the holiday holidays.

Fifth, the elections will be held without “getting involved” in a particularly delicate period of national examinations: if the first elections are held on April 9, then the second elections – with a new electoral law – will be held before the national examinations.

But the prime minister, although the ND itself is now moving with the horizon of upcoming polls, does not want the time before the first confrontation with a simple analogue to remain unused, both at the level of the diplomatic chessboard and on the front of government work.

With regard to foreign policy issues, it is significant that the Prime Minister did not hesitate to give the green light to a trilateral meeting in Brussels last Friday between diplomatic advisers Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Tayyip Erdogan and Olaf Soltz, Mr. Annas-Marias Boer, Ibrahim Kalin and Jens Pletner respectively, which took place after the prehistory of the summit.

For this particular development, according to the information, excellent chemistry, which was acquired by the German Prime Minister and Chancellor, played a decisive role. Mr Soltz has sometimes expressed the view that Berlin could help de-escalate tensions between Athens and Ankara. An important additional step was taken during the German chancellor’s visit to Greece at the end of October. At that time, Mr. Soltz was informed in detail about the reasons for the tensions in the Greek-Turkish relations and did not hesitate to take a clear position, as he explicitly stated that “Alliance members cannot directly challenge the sovereignty of other members.” In this sense, a strong web of trust has been built. Thus, when the German chancellor told Mr. Mitsotakis that he would like to take on a role in reactivating the communication channels between Athens and Ankara, the prime minister immediately replied that he did not mind. In addition, Mr. Mitsotakis firmly states that, despite differences, the two countries should negotiate. A positive signal from Athens was conveyed to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, who in turn agreed, resulting in a meeting of three diplomatic advisers.

Athens did not expect and does not immediately expect impressive developments in Greek-Turkish relations, and also does not invest in the possibility that Ankara will abandon its aggressive rhetoric. However, he considers the meeting of Messrs. Bur, Kalin and Pletner in Brussels important because:
• The channel between the offices of the Prime Minister and the President of Turkey, which was interrupted for several months after a spring lunch in Istanbul, is being restored. Until recently, the only – weak – bridge of communication, as is known, was the bridge between the defense ministers of the two countries, Panayotopoulos and Akar.
• Berlin is part of the larger picture of Greek-Turkish relations. It is also indicative that the representative of the German government, Steffen Hebstreit, confirming the “trilateralism” of Brussels, in fact, stated that “there will be other contacts.”

Election Plan April 9-1

Athens does not expect impressive results from Berlin’s initiative, at least until the elections in Greece and Turkey. However, it is possible that some ground for a positive development of events will be created immediately after that, and, in addition, tensions on the ground can be averted in the meantime. There indeed, despite the Turkish rhetorical excesses and doubts about the sovereignty of the islands, the situation remains under control due to the major immigration crisis in Evros and the departure of Oruc Reis.

The second front, on which the Prime Minister focuses his attention, is the continuation of the work of the government until the elections are held. Megaron Maximos is focusing on launching 43 programs to be funded by a €3.5 billion Recovery Fund. The use of the Fund’s resources is critical to maintaining the positive growth of the Greek economy next year, as the spillover effects of the war in Ukraine are already causing strong recession pressures internationally.

At the same time, a number of legislative interventions will also be launched in Mr. Mitsotakis’ bloc, the most important of which may be the reform of the pothen esches institution. Based on the existing scheme, a new structure is envisaged whereby 49 different categories of debtors will be “homogeneous” in thirteen. At the same time, for the convenience of citizens, financial data, such as bank deposits, will be placed directly by credit institutions, and citizens will simply confirm them. The rationalization of punishments will also continue – severe punishments are provided for minor offenses and vice versa – with a special emphasis on control over political figures.

Finally, there are considerations for the “homogeneity” of the control bodies currently carried out by the competent parliamentary committee and the Money Laundering Office, as well as for determining a specific ceiling for spot checks per year.

Also, the implementation path will go through, including:
• Expanding the RAE’s responsibility for water and waste issues.
• Creation of a center for research and production of drones.
• Judicial card of administrative justice, which is considered decisive for its faster award.
• Creation of an electronic control system for check-ins and check-outs at places of accommodation for tourists.
• New Immigration Code.
• Commencement of renovation work in hospitals and medical centers throughout the country.
