Some solutions are more difficult than others. They change your life, they bring you face to face with those aspects of your personality that also surprise you, with the potential that they claim they show. So I made a decision and today I want to share it with you.

Some time ago I received an offer that was clear, concise and specific. A demanding proposal that did me honor and touched me. You will soon see and hear me lay out the positions, opinions, proposals and actions of SYRIZA.

Before making my decision, I discussed it with my daughters and several of my people, and I was convinced both of my choice and of their support.

I quit – I confess unexpectedly – from the channel, which entrusted me with the position of the leading main bulletin. I left the safety zone I built while I was in top shape. And I will replace Nasos Iliopoulos, who will be the candidate, and I wish him good luck from the bottom of my heart.

Far from a familiar, confident, reliable, worthy group that supported me, I decided to join forces with another – new – group of people who have a vision. A progressive vision, goals and commitment to create a better future for all of us.

Why this step?

Because I believe that the times we live in need work, not just criticism. And at my age, I’m ready to cross over to the other side. To try, to do my best, to explain to you the vision that SYRIZA has – PS Which must now be criticized by another journalist in the position that I am leaving.

In fact, I will tell you the news again. In the same way, we will continue communication, but I will explain to you the news of the political party whose views I share. And I have the same fears and concerns as you. I will need to translate some things, get answers to others before I can pass them on to you. Because it is important not just to change, but to understand how and what we are changing.

I personally believe that we will achieve these changes with Alexis Tsipras. He left me with the same feeling as in the first interview I gave him many years ago. A feeling that intensified every time I met him in the TV studio. He is one of the few people I have met who insists not on justifying his choice, but on explaining it, analyzing it and examining himself for right or wrong actions. When I meet him, I see a man who can put into practice the ideas he supports, who does not try to prove what he is not. He has a vision, and indeed the vision we need. Realistically both in terms of money and time.

I believe that with Alexis Tsipras and SYRIZA-PS we will succeed. You may think otherwise.

But we can only agree that our difficulties concern everyone. The energy crisis, precision, uncertainty and perspective blurred on the horizon are affecting our own lives and shortening our children’s future.

So we all need to take our lives into our own hands.

Let’s get our feet wet to eat fish. And if you don’t dare to take the step that I did, or you can’t do it, then use the other great power that you have. Vote. Go to the polls when they are created and vote for those you believe in. Don’t let anger bring you down. You have power. Show her.”
