
“The UAE plays a very important role in the region,” the foreign minister said. Nikos Dendias in a statement to reporters ahead of a meeting with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Dubai.
As he indicated, he is in the United Arab Emirates, in Dubai, after a tour of the Balkans, “in the context of regular contacts with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Emirates, as provided for in Article 2 of the Agreement, which I had the honor to sign with Emirates, and in which, I recall , there is a paragraph on defense assistance.
He also noted that the UAE is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, and next year they will organize COP28 on the environment.
“In this context, there is a great depth of cooperation, given that we are organizing the 2024 Ocean Conference. Again, I look forward to a very fruitful exchange of views,” he concluded.
