“It was the statements of the politicians themselves that made the alliances and alliances evident in the next elections,” Deputy Minister Yannis Oikonomou commented to Prime Minister, speaking in Parliament tonight.
He was addressed in the plenary hall by PASOK MP and Vice Speaker of Parliament Odysseas Constantinopoulos, who referred to the upcoming elections, saying that citizens will judge not on the basis of the dilemmas proposed by the government today, but on the basis of the proposal of the parties, and for this, PASOK asks for a strong percentage in the elections.
“We want, as a government, to continue the course that has allowed Greece to endure in the midst of crises, and what we have achieved is a guarantee of what we can achieve without the burden of these crises,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. Minister Yiannis Economou replied: “But we have what is a fact. We have a statement, the conclusion of the leader of PASOK, who said: “Let’s send the ND to the opposition, and at the same time form a government from the first Sunday.” In other words, he said to govern with Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Varoufakis. Therefore, alliances and mergers are obvious, from the statements of the politicians themselves.”
A few minutes earlier, the MP from PASOK had mentioned the stakes of the elections. “You wonder what this PASOK is asking for. You know it, but you don’t like it. Not only to you, Mr. Economou. There are others who don’t like it. Don’t look that they are not talking… PASOK is saying what he was saying before the listening,” Mr. Konstantinopoulos said and referred to his party’s position on the economy, entrepreneurship, borrower protection policy, banks, healthcare, institutions. “We ask strong percentage in the first elections, not burn them to the ground. We are not like Mr. Tsipras, who gave a simple analogy and then said that he does not form a government of losers. We will tell you what our proposals are,” said the MP from PASOK and stressed: “If we wanted to change chairs, we would have already done it. So the question in the elections is what proposals the parties are applying for votes with, whether they can be implemented. Citizens will vote for them. Nobody will hide behind any alibis. And if the mandate of the people is that there should be no self-reliance, you will discuss positions, not dilemmas,” said Mr. Konstantinopoulos.
