Priority for those who have not lived “pasok, orthodox”

“And we care and we can.” This slogan encodes a message through which PASOK will seek to increase its percentage in the upcoming elections. According to the party leader, “this phrase perfectly defines us: we care, we know the problems, we come from society, we listen to the problems of ordinary people. And we can: we have the know-how, we have the political experience, we have the innovative proposals, we have the plan, finally we have the solutions.”

In the pre-election season already underway, PASOK is stepping in to convince them that it can provide practical solutions to the basic problems of everyday life: punctuality, housing, energy poverty, labor issues, the threat of new credit derailment.

Proposals have already been submitted through events organized under each theme. And, on a more theoretical level, he aims to make social democracy attractive again by emphasizing the rule of law and the elimination of inequality as his agenda.

Priority to those who have not lived

In Harilau, Trikoupi believes they are starting the election campaign with positive data: opinion polls show an increase in the strength of PASOK by even 50% compared to the percentage that the party received in the 2019 elections.

They believe that a certain percentage of voters are ready to repatriate, since the party acted as a pool of voters, certainly for the two largest parties, but also for smaller ones. And they focus on a very specific category of poll results. In an incomprehensible vote. PASOK officials believe that what is currently being recorded as an undecided vote in the polls are voters who in previous elections mostly voted for the New Democracy and SYRIZA, and are now meteors, but moving towards the Center.

Either on the right or on the left, it’s the voters who are unhappy with the way the two biggest parties are ruling and are stepping aside. The bet on Harilaou Trikoupis is to ensure that the next step they take is towards PASOK.

In age discrimination of voters, interest is drawn to younger ages. Traditionally, the party had the largest percentage as the age group of voters grew. This did not change the period of the crisis, when the highest retention of voters was recorded at older ages.

One of the goals of the green campaign is to renew the brand of social democracy.

However, in modern conditions, a dynamic audience in the age group from 18 to 30 years is becoming a priority. One reason is that these eras record high levels of abstinence, so anyone who manages to activate this audience will be a winner.

PASOK believes that the age of the leadership of the party and the choice of Nikos Androulakis, who nominated a number of younger leaders, give this audience a head start.

In addition, a lot of organized work has been done on proposals on the problems faced by young people. Offers on social housing, on the labor market with strong protection of workers’ rights, on increasing incomes with intervention in the minimum wage and collective bargaining, with support for students, etc.

PASOK is hopeful and optimistic that it will be able to rebuild some of its “castles” in the next elections. Some areas where his rule was unchallenged for years and the color of the map on election night was actually green. Crete, of course, is such an area. There, and also because of the origin of the chairman of the party, in Harilau Trikupis, they believe that they will move especially dynamically. “Surprises and upheavals are quite possible,” it says.

In addition, given the blurring of the percentage, there is not a single region of the country in which they would not seek to increase the electoral power. However, if they stand out somewhere, then the leaders of PASOK are in the Attica basin. Indeed, the largest constituencies of the country are concentrated in Attica.

Before the crisis, the power of the party in Basin was very great. “The large social and industrial groups that have supported us for many years have been severely affected by the crisis and have expressed their dissatisfaction by leaving PASOK. The big bet is to win them back in order to be able to register a significant increase in the pool, ”the message says.

Particular attention was paid to the preparation of ballots for the constituencies of the Basin, so that the party could enter the election campaign in the best possible conditions.

Reconnecting with the production teams that have been the backbone of PASOK for many years is a key challenge for the entire country. The very strong electoral power of PASOK among farmers cannot be overlooked, so the frame includes regions with a predominant vote for agriculture.
