“For Romania, it is very, very unlikely that such a moment will happen. We have to be ready for any situation, but the probability of entering a blackout, i.e. a complete blackout, is very, very low. Even if it were to happen, there are measures that are being discussed at the level of the entire energy system, so that we can restore the supply of electricity in a very short time (…) These aspects are very well discussed, agreed at the level of the Government with all institutions involved in everything related to the energy sphere and the sphere of emergency situations” , – Chuke said on RTV.

The Prime Minister also explained that measures have been taken at the national level to double the existing network with generators to ensure the operation of “vital points”.

Speaking about natural gas, Nicolae Cuke reminded that Romania entered the winter period with more than 3 billion cubic meters in storage and added that there are no problems with securing the required amount.

The president of the NLP, Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke, speaking about his possible candidacy in the presidential elections, also said that at the moment there is only one possibility – “let’s take care of governance”.
