According to European diplomatic sources cited by APE-MPE, in this letter, in the form of an oral communication, the interim government of Tripoli (its term has expired for about a year) is critical of the position of the Greek Foreign Minister and expresses surprise at this behavior of a member state EU.
At the same time, the interim government of Tripoli expresses the opinion that such actions do not contribute to the reunification of Libya, but increase the split and contradict the decisions of the international community.
Recall that on November 17, Nikos Dendias refused to get off the plane to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the interim government of Tripoli, Naila Mangus.
Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the adoption of diplomatic measures in his statement after the mentioned diplomatic episode, referring to the “vulgar policy and position” of Mr. Dendias.
In fact, Tripoli recalled the Libyan chargé d’affaires in Athens and summoned the Greek chargé d’affaires in Libya for an explanation.
On the other hand, the chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi stated that his country wished to eliminate the causes of misunderstandings and continue relations with all Western countries, including Greece.
