Tsipras: Country plunges into insecurity, uncertainty and despondency

“The country is mired in insecurity, uncertainty and bleakness of sick revelations about surveillance, while the government’s doctrine is to take it out of one pocket, through VAT, from consumers and into the pocket of cartels through subsidies,” the message says. President of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance Alexis Tsiprasduring his tour of the center of Serra.

Referring to yesterday’s speech by the Prime Minister Kyriakou Mitsotakis at a New Democracy political committee meeting, Mr. Tsipras described her “the delirium of a panicked and guilty prime minister” saying that “today I’m not at all concerned about finding answers” to what he said, but how “we will give an answer to the problems of society, to the problems of citizens.”

He emphasized that there is an alternative and as soon as hope for political change so much the better not for one faction, but for the whole country.

“Wherever you are in the country, you face the same uncertainty, the same desperation from market people who are groaning in the face of this unprecedented wave of precision.

And, unfortunately, there are no effective measures to stop accuracy, because government policy wants this looting to continue in order to support the few and the strong.

Government doctrine is to take it out of one pocket, through VAT, from consumers and put it in the pocket of the cartels, through subsidies. But this situation cannot continue like this. During the first 15 days, citizens’ incomes dry up. Today I saw many businessmen who risk being locked in their stores.

The country is mired in insecurity, uncertainty and the darkness of sick surveillance revelations. I am not at all interested in finding answers today to yesterday’s delirium of a panicked and guilty prime minister. I am concerned about how we will respond to the problems of society, to the problems of citizens immersed in insecurity and uncertainty. And I believe that there are answers, there is an alternative for society to stand up.

FROM renationalization of the checkpoint and crackdown on cartels and speculation in energy, fuel and food.

FROM reduction of excise tax on fuel and VAT in food to breathe life into Greek society.

FROM salary increase up to 800 euros and indexing to fight inflation to increase revenue.

FROM support and protection of the first house of the middle class which today is threatened by various Patsides who rush to borrowers with collection companies.

FROM measures that really support society and they will give hope in the face of today’s despair.

That’s why I’m here, and that’s what I’m working for, and the sooner there is hope through political change, and society gets back on its feet, and the rule of law and the functioning of a democratic state are restored, the better it will be, not for one faction in place, and so much the better for the country as a whole.”
