
On Wednesday, the Chamber of Deputies adopted a draft law approving Decree 16/2022 on amendments to the Fiscal Code. Parliamentarians from the PSD, PNL and UDMR voted to maintain the additional payment for part-time employment contracts.
During the plenary debates, deputies of the Democratic People’s Republic of Ukraine and the “Forces of the Right” appealed for the abolition of freelance taxation, but to no avail. And some of the PNL MPs, including Raluka Tsurkan and Robert Sigiarteu, supported the amendment on this issue.
A new amendment has been introduced in the approval draft of the decree, which provides that the tax on dividends is determined by applying a tax rate of 5% on gross dividends paid to a Romanian legal entity. Tax on dividends is declared and paid to the state budget by the 25th of the month following the month of dividend payment.
In version GEO 16/2022, dividends were taxed at the rate of 8%.
The draft law was adopted by the Chamber of Deputies, which is decisive in this case. The draft law is being promulgated.
