
After Lithuania yesterday it was the prime minister’s turn Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Estonia, within the framework of visits to the Baltic countries. Mr. Mitsotakis, according to him, informed the Prime Minister of Estonia in detail about the tension that Ankara is creating in the Aegean sea, both by actions – soon a Turkish sailor even harassed a Greek Coast Guard vessel – and by his rhetoric, emphasizing that “I will continue to say that there is only one way to resolve disputes with Turkey: international law”, while this was also mentioned about immigration, emphasizing that countries that use immigrants as tools should be condemned. Earlier, the Prime Minister spoke about the prospects for cooperation between Greece and Estonia, noting that much can be done in the field of digital reform. “I was impressed by the Estonian Ministry of Digital Policy when we were planning ours,” the prime minister said characteristically, inviting Estonian technology companies that want to invest in our country, noting that Greece is the right place to do so. Immediately afterwards, he added that “I wish we could only discuss these things, but there is a war going on in the Old Continent too”, stressing that “Greece and Estonia are together with our EU partners. and NATO allies” against anyone seeking to change borders, and “we remain committed to military support, and we also condemn attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.” For her part, the Estonian Prime Minister thanked Greece for being aligned with the EU. on the level of sanctions against Russia, Kyriakos Mitsotakis added that “we are friends with the Russian people, not with the government, we will always support the actions of the EU. put pressure on Russia to end the war as soon as possible.”

Mr. Mitsotakis, answering another question, said that if there is a ban on the transfer of Russian oil, the Greek side will comply with it. However, he noted that “we should not shoot ourselves in the foot” with European shipping in the interests of other countries outside the EU, which will take over this work if there are such sanctions. We must take care of measures that will harm Russia, but we must maintain a balance.”
