
Today, a broad coordination meeting was held under the leadership of the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Christos Stylianideswith all competent authorities, for better coordination of the mechanism and optimal preparation for the winter season.
The meeting, which will be followed by others, also discussed the better preparation of all departments and their effective coordination to deal with possible problems caused by severe weather events on the road network.
For his part, Minister for Climate Crises and Civil Protection Christos Stylianidis stressed to all participants the need for high alert and full vigilance, as well as the critical importance of coordinating all parties involved to respond immediately to any emergencies ahead of winter.
The meeting, which took place via videoconference, was attended by Deputy Minister for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Evangelos Tournas, Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection Eleftherios Economou, Secretary General of Civil Protection Vasilios Papageorgiou, Fire Chief, Lieutenant General Alexios Rapanos, Deputy Police Chief General – Lieutenant Ioannis Petrutsos, as well as high-ranking officials of the fire department. Also participating were Eleftherios Garilas, Major General of the Greek Police, representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and Director General for Coordination of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection Foivos Theodorou.
Representatives of the concession companies that manage the National Road Network (Attica Routes, Egnatia Road, Olympia Road, Moreas, Nea Odos, Aegean Motorway) also took part, who informed about their readiness, as well as about the preventive measures that they had begun within their competence.
