MeRA25: Fotini Bakadima became independent

His independence from his parliamentary group Day25 said in a letter to the Speaker of Parliament, MP Piraeus II Fotini Bakadima.

Ms. Bakadima is the third member of parliament to leave the party of Janis Varoufakis after Constantina Adamou and Angelica Adamopoulou, so MeRa25 now has six members.

According to the Rules of Procedure of the Chamber, a parliamentary group is dissolved if it has less than five deputies.

According to APE-MPE, following Ms. Bakadimas’s resignation, the Office of the Speaker of Parliament received a letter from MeRA25 Secretary Janis Varoufakis informing that MP Fotini Bakadimas has been removed from office by K.O.

The party commented on the independence of Fotini Bakadima with a statement. “At a time when MERA25 is under head-on attack by the oligarchs, whom it denounces by name both in and out of parliament, Fotini Bakadima, an MP for Piraeus, has chosen to stay away from the fighting. Everyone is being judged,” he said.

Varoufakis: I understand that some, some may not be able to withstand the attacks of the oligarchs

The departure of Fotini Bakadima from the party was commented by MeRA25 secretary Janis Varoufakis during his tour of Argolis.

“I understand that now that the Greek oligarchs are launching attacks, lawsuits and personal threats against members of parliament of the only party that names them, and that is why they are so annoyed, some – some of us, from the parliamentary group, may not tolerate, not tolerated,” he said, answering a journalist’s question.

“We continue, we will not back down, and it is especially encouraging that new people are coming to us, ready for this fight against the oligarchy,” he added.
