Turkey attaches great importance to the fight against Islamophobia, said Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoganwhile emphasizing that “racist attacks and hate speech against Muslims are on the rise”.
Speaking at an Organization of Islamic Cooperation communications conference, the Turkish president said, “We need to better explain disenfranchisement to the world. From Palestine to Kashmir, from Cyprus to Western Thrace, we cannot repel attacks without expanding our cooperation.”
The Turkish President said that “when I said how the cement giant Lafarge supported terrorist organizations in northern Syria and poured concrete, the French did not understand this. I said this to Macron as well. The French parliament called Macron to account. It has now become the most important topic on France’s agenda. This lie didn’t work. Lafarge has become one of the most important organizations supporting terrorism. These organizations are supported.”
“Those who tell us about freedom and human rights continue to defend them under stupid pretexts. Racist attacks and hate speech against Muslims have increased. Freedom of religion is limited by fascist laws. They are trying to make interventions in the hijab and beard the norm,” the Turkish president continued.
In conclusion, Mr. Erdogan said: “As Turkey, we attach great importance to the fight against Islamophobia. It is imperative that we defend the Palestinian cause more vigorously. We need to better explain disenfranchisement to the world. From Palestine to Kashmir, from Cyprus to Western Thrace, we cannot repel attacks without expanding our cooperation.”
