The Prime Minister notes that the government is considering measures to cope with the large increase in its price. diesel fueland that he is planning a further increase in the minimum wage in Greece, was voiced during yesterday’s lengthy discussion of the burning issue by Mr. Al. Tsipras Mr. Mrs Mitsotakis more precisely, within the framework of the “hour of the prime minister” in parliament. From the confrontation between the two leaders, which for the first time in a long time was anything but not “colored” with elements of enmity and polarization between them, it was not without mention of the upcoming elections with the Prime Minister and the President of SYRIZA, arguing that two different perspective on economic policy.
“We are concerned about the diesel issue. This is something we will be focusing on because the increase in diesel fuel affects the supply chain and product costs. We are measuring our capacity and see if we can announce something for diesel transport as well,” the prime minister said, adding elsewhere: “Another increase in the minimum wage is needed as we face the this phenomenon of precision with such intensity.” In any case, Mr. Mitsotakis reiterated that any government action on this front does not threaten fiscal stability: “Interventions are carried out within the framework of fiscal discipline,” he said characteristically.

The Prime Minister, who was opposed by Al. Tsipras in parliament, with a focus on energy, stressed that any government intervention would be within the framework of fiscal discipline.
Mr. Mitsotakis’ reference to diesel came in response to Mr. Tsipras’ comment that the government had made a mistake by not doing something, with the prime minister saying that, on the one hand, he was right that President SYRIZA refers to a specific fuel parameter, on the other hand, but the claim that the reported increase is only a Greek phenomenon is unfair to the government. “I have to admit that during the course I mentioned something that is not true. There is a lot of diesel all over Europe,” Mr. Tsipras admitted in turn. There was a similar confession on behalf of the official leader of the opposition regarding the scale of the state’s financial interventions: “You tell us that you finance – and this is true – several billion euros to cover the costs for energy. That’s right. The amount of subsidies – we also tell you this – is too large, ”he said characteristically, addressing the prime minister.
Mr. Mitsotakis, for his part, presented in detail all the measures that have been developed and implemented by the government to date. At the same time, he pointed out that the main cause of the international problem is Russia’s war in Ukraine and Mr. Putin’s instrumentalization of the energy sector. The President of SYRIZA refrained from making any further comments regarding the President of Russia, as pointed out by Mr. Mitsotakis.

In conclusion, Mr. Tsipras repeated the request to run for elections, arguing that a progressive government with a different economic policy should come to power, while the prime minister opposed, recalling the past government of SYRIZA: “Citizens, although they are tested, at least at least feel the state to try to support them in the global adventure. And now they know who will be able to build in the coming days after the storm with stability, consistency and continuity.”
