Meeting between his representative Turkish President Ibrahim Kalin and National Security Adviser USA Jake Sullivan walked today in Istanbul.

Topics discussed during the meeting at the presidential resort of Mabein included Turkish-American political and economic relations, areas of cooperation in the defense industry, the war in Ukraine, the processes of accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO, and developments in the Aegean Sea. , Mediterranean and South Caucasus.

Along with the implementation of the Strategic Mechanism, hope was expressed for expanding areas of cooperation based on common interests.

It was also emphasized that the completion of the process on the F-16 issue would serve the strategic interests of the two countries.

During the meeting, the key role of Turkey in NATO was emphasized and it was noted that allies must act in concert and in solidarity against common security risks and all terrorist threats.

Ibrahim Kalin told Jake Sullivan that Turkey would not hesitate to defend its rights and interests in the Aegean and the Mediterranean, and stated that Greece’s aggressive actions were contrary to international law and unacceptable.

It was also noted that it is necessary to intensify diplomatic efforts in order to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, which threatens global security and stability.
