About two weeks ago, at the end of his speech on the supervisory investigation, Haris Kastanidis, in addition to the “green” wing, also received an applause from the deputies of SYRIZA. The same thing happened in mid-July, when a tone rose in parliament over the position of the Deputy Minister of Education, Angelos Sirygos, on the mutiny of the Politecnico. The MP from Thessaloniki took the floor (actually in the presence of PASOK parliamentary representative Nadias Giannakopoulos), and at the end of his speech he was warmly applauded by the chairmen of the official opposition. This is one side of the coin. A few days ago, the day after Karamanli’s performance in Crete and what he said about the wiretap, Andreas Loverdos deviated from Char’s line by posting. Trikoupi, in which the former prime minister “stated the obvious.” “The country paid dearly for the Tsipras-Karamanlikon front. This history will not repeat itself even as a farce,” he wrote at the time, photographing an informal opposition alliance and drawing dividing lines from it.
“Wings” in K.O. PASOK is certainly nothing new, as it has even led to major internal party crises in the past. On the other hand, it is a fact that on several occasions they gave the handle to the subordinate readings on the right and left. For example, the double applause of SYRIZA H. Kastanidis was interpreted by N.D. and the official opposition as an indicator of the climate of rapprochement between Char. Trikoupis and Komunduru, though PASOK and Nikos Androulakis never showed any signs of reacting to Al’s insistent flirtation. Tsipras. However, this issue as a whole does not cease to be a field of fragile balances. Especially in light of the elections, in which PASOK could face very serious dilemmas. Is it possible to imagine that such officials as G. Papandreou or J. Castanidis discussed an alliance with the National Democratic Party? Or, on the other hand, executives like Andre. Loverdos and N. Giannakopoulou at the same table with SYRIZA?
The “third road” of the autonomous course, which Nikos Androulakis is steadily moving on, is currently resonating in all directions. However, as the polls approach, no one can be sure that this will not change. “I think it’s right not to specify anything now. (…) However, this political correctness dries up on the day the elections are announced,” Mr. Loverdos pointedly said in an interview on Thursday, and the PASOK chairman repeatedly stressed that “the ratios will be judged by the ballot box.”
The concern is how the party yearbook will be contested in the elections.
Another important issue that Har. The triple coup before the elections is the absence of Nikos Androulakis in parliament. Hierarchy of K.O. was one of the big questions in the internal party pre-election period in December, when the final result began to loom. President PASOK included leaders from all camps in key positions, but, as expected, gave key roles to leaders from his wider circle. Among them, in the dilemma of Katrina or Skandalides as leader, the renewal narrative tipped the balance in favor of the former, relegating the Athenian MP to the position of parliamentary representative (for some, his experience would have been valuable as a leader in leadership debates). This category also includes the gospel secretary Liakulis, as well as Odysseus Konstantinopoulos, who is also one of the few close associates of N. Androulakis.
However, the recent plenary debate on surveillance has presented PASOK with an inevitable thorn in its side, but also a paradox. The absence of Andrulakis left the field of opposition to El. Tsipras for the cause he “built” through his actions, causing the first major government crisis. Michalis Katrinis is credited with moving towards moderation and sobriety in Parliament, which echoes the spirit that Char desires. Trikoupis, however, is actually a particularly difficult role, always following the current and former prime minister on stage. And although, as is often said, the faction “will have to learn to live with the absence of a president,” the fact that there will be other “battles” at the top before the elections raises fears among the leadership, especially the internally polarized climate, which will act more and more oppressively on ” green camp.
However, how do PASOK imagine the next knockout? The renovation project remains in the center, without, of course, planning any … age pogrom. In addition, the scores want a few “old caravans” with significant influence (Loverdos, Skandalidis, Kastanidis, Konstantinopoulos) to keep their seats. Doubling the seats – a goal quite achievable according to opinion polls – will also bring new faces, while the combination of old and new seems to have N. Androulakis in mind for the top three seats on the state ballot.
Rolling players without a leader in parliament
