“The country may have an alternative food supply. And reliable and progressive. A social democratic government,” said the President of PASOK-Movement for Change. Nikos Androulakisstressing that the dilemma of the next election is not “Mitsotakis or chaos”, but “democratic overthrow or tolerance for the regime and injustice”.
From her step TEFNikos Androulakis criticized both the prime minister and Alexis Tsipras on Wednesday evening, accusing them of cynicism. “They are so similar. They are able to shamelessly say the same thing and vice versa. Because they have a common hobby. Passion for power. They are united by cynicism. Monitoring, instrumentalization of justice, referendums,” he said.
According to Nikos Androulakis, “the country must change the page, and the Democratic Party is responsible for this. It is our responsibility to take on the daily concerns of the Greek people. Turn the despair that breeds injustice into hope. We will not become anger managers. We are responsible for the country to function as a normal European state.”
Mr. Androulakis was applauded by hundreds of PASOK leaders when he responded to the prime minister for saying that any non-ND government cooperation by other parties is a monster. He specifically pointed out: “Did you hear about the teratogenesis of the apostasy of the 65th? Remember 1989 and the special court? The enormity of the mockery front against the memorandum you created with SYRIZA to absolve yourself of New Democracy responsibility? All this was directed against our faction. They are imprinted in our political DNA. You go to great lengths to change history, but there is historical memory. We didn’t star in any teratogenesis. You were the aggressor and we were the victim. That is why we are the Democratic Party of the country. We don’t play games with institutions and the rule of law.”
He went on to say that the slogan “Consistency – Continuity – Stability” advertised by the Prime Minister from the TIF rostrum actually means “Inconsistency – Regression – Instability”.
“We are experiencing a complete destabilization and moral discrediting of the “headquarters” state of Mr. Mitsotakis. Completely centralized, closed and non-transparent system of management and separation of powers in the Maxim Palace. “Everything in the light” of Mr. Mitsotakis has now turned into “everything in the dark,” he said, referring to his monitoring by the EPM, and explained that if he accepted Mr. Mitsotakis’ proposal, he would be illegal.
He also claimed that his file was destroyed so that there would be no evidence of an attempt to take PASOK hostage. “We knew about the “big brother”, but it didn’t even occur to us that the “great-nephew” would listen to us on behalf of the “cousin uncle”. It is a pity that Orwell is not alive to rewrite his book, ”he said and categorically stated that he would not consider such practices to be “normal”.
“The faction that founded democracy in the country does not agree, does not negotiate, does not accept a return to the dark times. The king is naked. And to add to his desperation, he uses disparate scenarios of a joint government of programmatically different parties to reinforce the “Mitsotakis is chaos” dilemma, he stressed.
Regarding Turkey, he said, in particular, that “it makes no sense for European countries, our partners, to continue arming Turkey. Also, after the Cypriot elections, a dialogue should begin to resolve the Cyprus issue on the basis of international law and UN Security Council resolutions. Erdogan cannot be left in the dark. International law is the great weapon of Greece.”
Mr. Androulakis proposed a bold program of reforms in institutions, the state and the political system, which moves in two directions: increased responsibility, accountability and transparency, efficiency
The President of PASOK-Movement for Change has set specific national goals for which he outlined the main directions of the program that will be presented soon, and they concern: a new production model, full of rights and dignity in the world of work, a welfare state that will face the biggest national problem, demographic.
Regarding social housing, he spoke about backdated announcements and, in his words, “in this matter, I am very glad that they followed me closely and came to our policy.”
Nikos Androulakis spoke about the public social insurance system guaranteeing the dignity of all citizens, establishing a decent guaranteed income for poor pensioners, restoring a new form of EKAS, strengthening and radically reforming the social security system to cope with the new era, for public and free education, where he formulated concrete proposals.
He specifically mentioned a completely different tax system that would put an end to “tax populism.”
Regarding Thessaloniki and its problems, Mr. Androulakis stressed that a new development plan is needed, which will make the city the economic center of Northern Greece and the Balkan region as a whole. To be an open and not closed city to the changes taking place in the wider region.
He cited the completion and modernization of rail links with neighboring states, the modernization of the port, the revitalization of its industrial zone and the creation of modern cargo hubs as necessary infrastructure projects, which point to some of the absolutely necessary interventions. As recent natural disasters have shown, flood control projects and systematic protection of the Sheikh Su and Thermaikos ecosystems are also needed.
“Now more than ever, it is necessary, together with democratic citizens, to build an invincible social front for victory and radical change. For the dignity and advancement of every Greek woman and every Greek man. The motherland deserves more. Together we can and will succeed,” concluded Mr. Androulakis.
